Outpatient Clinic Expansion

The Durango location of one of Dignity Health’s physical therapy clinics is in the heart of Las Vegas. Positioned against the backdrop of Red Rocks, this area’s population is expanding due to its proximity to unlimited hiking trails and outdoor activities and just a fifteen-minute drive to downtown and the airport.

Bolstered by an influx of new families to support a population of aging seniors and college students, the clinic has been experiencing an identical level of growth. With a lead therapist who is passionate about prosthetic physical therapy, orthopedics, and sports rehabilitation, the clinic’s growth has driven the need to renovate the space, including new flooring, paint, and cabinetry, an updated bathroom, and the addition of an automatic door for the neurological therapy room.

On behalf of Dignity and its onsite staff, RVA provided our architectural and project management services to direct the renovation project. This responsibility involved working with expert contractors to install two new flooring systems: a rubber floor for the primary treatment area/gym and an elegant tile floor in the waiting room.

Additionally, we ensured that renovations reflected Dignity’s branding while simultaneously accommodating the needs of the patients to provide them with a safe environment that promotes healing and recovery.

The Challenge

Inspired by Dignity’s clinic manager’s passion for elevating the clinic’s appearance and improving its needs, the RVA team oversaw the flooring installations to ensure they complied with patient safety requirements. Due to the extensive changes in the facility, the team managed the contractors as they worked after hours to avoid inconveniencing patients, especially when installing new tiles and hardware in the bathroom.

The Result

At the project’s completion, the clinic’s manager and the company’s corporate team were pleased with the outcome and impressed that it finished by the launch date. What mattered was ensuring that existing patients didn’t experience delays in their recovery needs and were greeted with new enhancements to the clinic, enhancing the already safe environment.
