Raymore Expansion

RVA Architecture provided architectural and project management services for the expansion of a high-performing outpatient rehabilitation clinic in Raymore, Missouri. Located in a growing community just outside of the Kansas City Metro area, the clinic sought to accommodate increased patient volume and broaden its range of services. The project involved integrating adjacent retail space into the existing clinic footprint to support new specialty services, most notably hand therapy.

Working closely with the client’s team, RVA led all aspects of the project, including programming, schematic design, permitting, and construction management. The result was a seamless expansion within a retail center setting optimized for both patient flow and future growth.

The Challenge

With the Raymore community expecting steady population growth over the next five years, the existing facility had reached its operational limits. While the clinic consistently drew substantial patient volume, it couldn’t support the addition of newer, high-demand services. The clinical staff was in place, but the physical space was not.

To expand, the team needed to repurpose a neighboring retail unit that a nail salon had previously occupied. This project presented architectural and construction complexities, including dealing with extensive existing plumbing, reworking shared demising walls, and installing a new ceiling system—all while minimizing disruption to the operating clinic.

The Result

The expansion provided much-needed square footage to support continued growth, both in the services offered and the number of patients served. By uniting two spaces into a cohesive clinic environment, RVA helped the client position the Raymore location as a hub for referrals in the greater Kansas City area. With the expansion complete and new services now available, the site is well-positioned to increase both patient access and profitability in the future.
