The community of Richardson is home to the University of Texas at Dallas and has become a hub for corporations, with over 5,000 companies calling this suburb of Dallas home. It is still a Telecom Hub with AT&T, Verizon, Cisco Systems, Samsung, and MetroPCS, which all have major facilities here. Additionally, several headquarters and significant operations for other major organizations, including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Geico, United Healthcare, and State Farm, are located in the area.
The BaylorScott & White center located here focuses on physical therapy, vestibular rehabilitation, joint mobilization, and other movement-intensive programs.
With this constant influx of traffic, BaylorScott & White’s Institute for Rehabilitation, located in the heart of the district, needed to renovate its existing property to provide its therapists with the necessary space to create unique treatment plans for each patient.

Beyond the mat tables, exercise bikes, and weights, physical therapists need a variety of other tools and equipment for their clients, including a variety of wedges, supports, mobilization bands, and rollers. This amount of equipment takes up plenty of much-needed room in the primary treatment areas, making it a challenge to deliver the best level of care.
While the center team wanted to update the current environment with new carpet and paint, additional enhancements such as an updated fountain for water bottles, new lighting, and an automatic door were also required.
RVA also created a private treatment room and shelving for equipment. We designed a shelving unit in the available space to provide storage and easy access to hand-held equipment. Outside the initial discussion, the team worked with the contractors and clinic staff to identify the best location and create a space that maximized access but did not affect the budget.
